I’ve been following the tragic case of Desmond Dale and it's incredibly tough to wrap my head around how senseless this loss is. It's clear that the community is deeply affected, and my heart goes out to Desmond’s family. The fact that he was chased like that before being brutally attacked is just beyond horrifying. What struck me most was the background of Curtis Lane Jr., the suspect. It’s unsettling to see how his history of felony offenses was overlooked until it was too late. Why wasn't something more done when he was arrested in June for weapon possession and DUI? It feels like there are so many missed opportunities to prevent such tragedies. I hope this case prompts a deeper examination of the systems in place to handle repeat offenders. It's critical for real change to happen so that Desmond's death leads to meaningful reform and, ultimately, safer communities for everyone. I'd love to hear others’ thoughts on how the justice system can be improved to prevent something like this from happening again. Desmond's loved ones deserve to see justice served, and our community deserves to feel secure.
