I’ve been reading about the Cumberland County Bus Garage tragedy, and it's deeply unsettling. My heart goes out to the families affected—especially Mark Gunter's loved ones who are grappling with such a senseless loss. One thing I’ve been thinking about is the security at places like school bus garages. I know the district assured everyone that students weren’t in danger, but it makes me wonder about security protocols for staff and vulnerable places off-hours. Are there surveillance cameras or any emergency protocols in place in general for situations like this? It just seems like there could be more awareness or measures to prevent something so tragic from happening. Thoughts?
Has anyone else been thinking about the security measures at places like the Cumberland County School Bus Garage after the tragedy involving Mark Gunter and Joy Nostrom? It’s incredibly haunting that this happened right in a public space, so close to where so many community activities go on. I can't even begin to imagine the shock and fear the staff and anyone nearby must have felt at that moment.
I hope this case serves as a serious wake-up call for workplaces to ensure they're doing everything they can to keep people safe from domestic violence that can spill over into public spaces. My thoughts are with Mark’s and Joy's families and anyone else affected by this crime. No one should have to worry about their safety going to or from their job. What steps do you think should be taken to prevent something like this from happening in the future?
