I was reading through some updates on Brian Thomas's case and got to thinking about the awful state of the crime lab back in 2017. Does anyone remember how backed up things were? It blows my mind that critical evidence like DNA can just sit in a queue for who knows how long. We all know that time is crucial in solving these cases. It must be so agonizing for Brian's family to wait for answers this long, especially when you think about how a quicker turnaround in the crime lab might have made a difference. It's deeply frustrating to see a system that's supposed to help bring justice is the very thing that can hold up the process. I truly hope things have improved since then—not just for Brian’s case but for all the families still waiting for some resolution. Sending my thoughts to his loved ones.

I came across Brian Thomas's case while delving into the backlog of unsolved homicides in St. Louis, and it got me thinking about the impact that staffing shortages must have on these investigations. It’s unimaginable how frustrating it must be for the detectives who truly want to help families but simply don't have the resources to do so. I’ve read about underfunded police departments before, but seeing how directly it affects families waiting for answers is a real eye-opener. For the friends and family of Brian, I can only imagine how difficult each day must be, feeling like the case has hit a brick wall. It saddens me to think that, while technology has advanced so much, there are still such significant hurdles in place, preventing justice from being served. I sincerely hope that there will be developments in Brian’s case and the other unsolved cases in the area. The victims, and their families, deserve a resolution. Anyone else here familiar with how cities have boosted their clearance rates? Perhaps there's hope in looking at specific strategies that have seen success elsewhere.
