I just came across some details about the tragic case of Quintasia Tate, and it's so deeply troubling to think about the loved ones she left behind. I read that she was only 19 and expecting a child, which must have made her family’s loss feel even more profound. One thing that's been on my mind is how Powell allegedly used Facebook Messenger to initially contact Quintasia. It's chilling to realize how something as mundane as a social media message can have such dire consequences. What really stands out to me is the vulnerability of it all. Quintasia probably thought she was just stepping outside for a conversation. It's truly difficult to imagine what her family is going through knowing this could have been avoided. I hope that by continuing to discuss her story, we can help keep her memory alive and also raise awareness about the importance of protecting each other from violence. My heart goes out to all who knew and loved her.
