I've been thinking a lot about the tragic loss of young Ashanti Posey, and one detail that hasn’t been discussed much is the impact of this senseless act on her basketball team. Being part of the Lady Burros at Hillsboro High School must’ve been a significant part of her life. Team sports create such strong bonds, and I can only imagine how her teammates and coaches are coping with her loss. It must be incredibly challenging to return to the court knowing Ashanti's spot is empty. Sports teams often feel like families, and this is undoubtedly a massive void for them. I hope they’re finding support and strength in one another during this tough time. My heart goes out to all of them, and I hope justice can be served soon. If anyone knows anything, please don’t hesitate to speak up. Ashanti and her team deserve answers.
