I've been following the Yessenia Ahumada case, and it's just so upsetting thinking about how this senseless act of violence tore apart families and a community. I can't even begin to imagine what her loved ones are going through, especially considering how vibrant and full of life people say she was. It just makes you wonder, how can someone be in the wrong place at such a wrong time? Also, it's concerning how this incident happened in the context of a wider surge in violence in Kansas City. It feels like this trend was a ticking time bomb, and tragically, Yessenia and others fell victim to it. Sending strength to everyone who's been touched by this awful event. ?
