I can't stop thinking about the courage and strength it must take for Robert Howard's family to continue to push for justice amidst their unimaginable loss. One aspect of this case that's been gnawing at me is the betrayal of trust involved. When people are in the hands of law enforcement, it's with the expectation of protection, not harm. To think that an on-duty officer, who vowed to serve and protect, could commit such an act is absolutely horrifying. It makes me wonder about what kind of vetting process is in place for officers and whether it truly assesses their character and ability to handle personal grudges or conflicts responsibly. Robert’s life was taken in such a terrifying way, and I can't even begin to imagine the pain his family is going through. They deserve answers, accountability, and significant change within the system to prevent this from happening to anyone else. It’s heartbreaking that it takes a tragedy like this to spark conversations about reform. My heart goes out to Robert's family and his children, who will now grow up without their father.
