I've been following the case of Donterrius Johnson, aka Mendenhall 2x, and I can't stop thinking about how this has affected his music community in Memphis. It's just so difficult to process how a young rapper, who was so clearly passionate about his craft and had such a bright future, was taken away in such a senseless act of violence. I remember reading about one of his last performances and how much energy and joy he brought to the stage. I didn’t know him personally, but you could tell he was destined for something greater. It's inspiring to see the community rallying around his family, keeping his music and his memory alive. I hope they find some comfort in that support, despite the deep loss they're experiencing. I keep hoping for more updates from the police about the remaining suspects. It’s important for everyone affected to see justice served. If anyone knows more about how the local artists are honoring him, please share. His legacy deserves to shine.
