I've been following the Marcus Malone Jr. case, and something that really struck me was the ongoing impact this has on the families involved. I can't even begin to imagine the pain Alana Tello's family feels, having lost her so young due to such senseless violence. It's also deeply sad to think about Marcus’s own family, dealing with the loss of his life in a different way. Regardless of the outcomes in the legal system, there are so many people affected who have to live with these events every day. It's a sobering reminder of how important it is to address the underlying issues that lead to such tragedies and support those working towards violence prevention. My heart goes out to everyone touched by these events.
