I've been following the heartbreaking events that took place at the East Lamar Carrier Annex, and one aspect that stands out to me is the call for more mental health support within USPS. Knowing that Johntra Haley had been experiencing bullying and stress at work makes me wonder how many others might be silently suffering. It's a stark reminder of how crucial it is to have robust support systems in place. Demetria Dortch seemed like such a hard-working individual, having been dedicated to her role since 2015. It's beyond tragic that her life, and that of James Wilson Jr., was cut short in such a violent manner. I hope the USPS takes this tragedy as a catalyst for change, ensuring they create a safer and more supportive environment for all their employees. My heart goes out to Demetria’s friends and family—losing someone so suddenly and violently is an unimaginable pain. ?
