I've been following the case of Edward Atkins and his daughter Melissa Burgess-Smith, and I can't stop thinking about the lack of any sounds of gunshots being reported by the neighbors. It’s strange to me, especially when we're talking about multiple shots fired. It's almost as if someone used a suppressor or managed to time it just right to go unnoticed.
I feel for their family, knowing they must be haunted by so many unanswered questions. Living in a community where generally you’d think people look out for each other, it makes you wonder what other pieces of the puzzle we're missing. How could something so tragic occur with no witnesses? And if no weapon was found, could it mean the killer had it well-planned out?
My heart goes out to Jeffery Atkins and all those who loved them. I can only hope that with the reward in place, someone will come forward with crucial information. If anyone here has theories about the neighborhood or potential people they could have come into contact with that day, it would be great to discuss. Let’s keep the conversation going and maybe help inch closer to justice for Edward and Melissa.
I've been following the tragic case of Edward Atkins and his daughter Melissa, and I can't get over the fact that nobody heard any gunshots. It's so unsettling. Living in a quiet area like Dandridge, you'd think someone would have noticed something unusual. The fact that the neighbors saw police but didn’t hear the shots makes me wonder about the possibility of a silencer being used. Could that be why investigators haven’t identified a suspect yet? It feels like such a crucial piece of the puzzle might be missing.
My thoughts are with Jeffery Atkins and the rest of the family. I can't imagine the pain they're going through, especially with the holidays reminding them of what they’ve lost. If it’s true that this might be drug-related, I hope the authorities are looking into everyone who might have been involved in that aspect of Melissa’s life. It's painful to think that she and her father could have gotten caught up in something so dangerous. Sending strength and hope that justice is served soon for them both.
I’ve been following the tragic case of Edward Atkins and Melissa Burgess-Smith, and something that stands out to me is the nature of the calls made that night. The call from Edward's brother, Jeffery, around 4:30 p.m. seems crucial since it was reportedly the last time anyone heard from them. I wonder what exactly was discussed during that conversation. Did they mention being worried about anything or anyone?
I can’t imagine the grief the Atkins family is going through right now, especially having so many unanswered questions about their loved ones' final hours. If anyone happens to have more information or insight about that call, it might help piece together the timeline, or even reveal if something out of the ordinary was going on in their lives leading up to that day. Every detail could be important. I hope anyone with even a tiny bit of relevant info will come forward and help the family find some justice and peace.
