I've been following the case of Derico Franklin's tragic death and can't help but feel so deeply for his family. I can't imagine the pain they're going through, especially knowing this whole situation stemmed from what seems like a senseless argument. It truly shows how quickly things can spiral out of control when emotions run high.
What really stands out to me is the fact that Brittany Hill was out on a $500,000 bond. Given the seriousness of the charges against her, it feels like this decision must have been tough for the court. I understand the principles of the legal system, but it’s hard not to feel unsettled by the idea of someone accused in such a violent crime being back in the community while awaiting trial.
I genuinely hope this case leads to more dialogue about conflict resolution and the signs of escalating confrontations. It's so important for communities to have resources and support systems in place to deal with these kinds of disputes before they turn violent.

I've been thinking a lot about the surveillance footage from the Shell Gas Station. Watching Brittany Hill act so nonchalantly before and after the shooting is chilling. It's like she walked into that store without a care in the world, only to open fire moments later. It’s hard to imagine the thoughts running through her mind.

When will people realize that violence is never the answer?
