Was anyone else struck by the sheer tragedy of this case? It’s unsettling to think about what Clara Dempsey must have gone through, losing her entire family so abruptly and under such horrific circumstances. It's hard to imagine the emotional and physical scars she carried for the rest of her life. The fact that she was the sole survivor adds another layer of sorrow to an already unthinkable event. If anybody has more insight into how Clara coped after this tragedy, I'd be really interested to learn more. It makes you wonder if there were any community efforts or support systems in place back then that reached out to help her through it. It must have been incredibly difficult to continue living after surviving such a personal catastrophe.
