Hello all, I've been thinking a lot about Trooper David Yarrington's family, especially his wife and child. I can't even begin to grasp how devastating January 6, 1972, must have been for them. Losing a loved one in such a sudden and violent way must leave a hole that never truly heals. David was so young, only 24, and had a promising career ahead of him, not to mention his prior service with the Navy. It's hard to imagine how many lives he touched during his time with the Delaware State Police and how those memories might bring both comfort and pain to those left behind. I came across some information about how communities sometimes rally around the families of fallen officers, setting up scholarships or memorial funds in their honor. I'm curious if there’s anything like that established for Trooper Yarrington or Trooper Carey. It’s so important to keep their memories alive and support those they left behind. Does anyone know if anything like this exists, or how we might support initiatives like these? Sending love to his family and the broader law enforcement community affected by this tragedy. Take care everyone.
