Did anyone else hear about Officer Charles E. Attig Jr.'s case? It's so unsettling to think about the random nature of violence that can take such a promising young life. It's especially troubling how the shooter, Troutman, confused him with the chief of police over something as trivial as a speeding ticket. This really highlights the unpredictability law enforcement officers face daily. Given that Attig was only 25, it's hard not to think about all the potential and life experiences he was denied. As a community, how do we come together to accommodate the profound loss his family endures while also addressing the serious risks officers encounter on a routine basis? It's a tough conversation that needs to happen. Sending all my thoughts to his family, friends, and the Shamokin Dam community.
