Hey everyone, been following the case of Wallace "Chubby" Gray II and his crewman Wayne Young for a while now, and something that's been puzzling me is the fact that there were no distress signals sent from the *Foxy Lady II*. It seems odd for a boat equipped with proper safety equipment not to send any alert if something went wrong. Does anyone have insights on why this might happen? Could there have been a sudden event that made communicating impossible, or is it possible there was some sort of equipment failure? I wonder if thorough checks were done on the communication equipment beforehand. Also, does anyone know if this could affect insurance claims or investigations into the incident? Just adding another piece to the puzzle. Would love to hear your thoughts!

I was just reading about the case of Wallace "Chubby" Gray II and one thing that really stands out to me is the complete lack of distress signals from the *Foxy Lady II*. It's odd, don't you think? In most maritime emergencies, especially with experienced captains like Gray, you'd expect some kind of SOS. The equipment could have failed, or maybe there wasn't time to react, but it's just such an eerie aspect of the case. There was also something unsettling about the lifeboat being found separate from the main vessel. Was it launched in a hurry? Did they even make it onto the lifeboat? With the weather reports from that night, it makes you wonder if something more sudden occurred. I'm curious whether anyone else has insights on the maritime protocols from that area or similar cases—could the boat have been hit by a rogue wave, or is there a history of mechanical issues with similar vessels? Feels like there are still so many missing pieces.
