I'm feeling for Joann's family, especially her son, having to deal with such an unimaginable loss. What really intrigues me here is Joann's career as a computer programmer at a time when that field was just starting to gain traction, especially for women. She must have been quite talented and ahead of her time. It's so sad to think that someone who contributed positively to her field and community met such a tragic end. I wonder if anyone from her work life has shared memories or insights into who she was professionally and personally. It’s always difficult to reconcile the public perception of someone with the private tragedies they may face. My thoughts are with her family and colleagues who surely miss her presence and contributions.
