Hey everyone, I’ve been following the discussion around Jamar Prattis's case and it just occurred to me how deeply unsettling it must have been for his family to endure not only his loss but the drawn-out legal process that followed. One aspect that I find particularly concerning is the claims Robert Wilson made about ineffective assistance of counsel. It's a stark reminder of how critical it is to have competent legal representation, especially in a case with such severe consequences. I'm curious if anyone has insights into how these claims of ineffective counsel are evaluated by the courts? It seems like these claims can be so complex and often subjective. The fact that the courts repeatedly dismissed Wilson’s appeals suggests they must have found his legal representation adequate, but it's unfortunate his family had to go through years of legal battles on top of dealing with their grief. My thoughts are with Jamar’s loved ones, and I hope they’ve found some peace despite the lengthy judicial proceedings. Would love to hear others' thoughts on how systemic issues like this affect similar cases. Stay safe, everyone.
