I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact of this tragedy on Sandip Patel and his family. It's hard to imagine the strength needed to endure such a life-changing injury, let alone for seven years until he passed away. It's important to remember that these incidents leave behind more than just immediate victims. Families are forever changed, and communities carry these wounds for years. Patel’s resilience and the love and support from his community during his struggles must have been immense, yet I can't even comprehend the emotional toll on his loved ones. The loss and the heartache those families face is beyond words. Such senseless acts of violence serve as a reminder of how crucial it is for us to come together in support of one another, reject hate, and fight for a world that is safe for everyone, regardless of their background. Sending my thoughts to all the victims’ families and to anyone struggling with the aftermath of such a cruel act. Always strive for understanding and empathy in memory of those we lost.
