Has anyone else noticed the eerie connection between the confluence area where Jonathan Chase Franklin went missing and other similar drownings reported in Missouri over the years? I’ve been digging through some old reports, and it seems like that spot where the Meramec and Big Rivers meet is notorious for dangerous currents. It makes me wonder if more awareness and cautionary measures need to be put in place to prevent future incidents. Such a beautiful place, yet it holds so many tragic stories. Would love to hear from locals or anyone with insight into other incidents along that stretch of river. Stay safe, everyone.
Hey everyone,
I've been looking into the case of Jonathan Chase Franklin, and something that's been on my mind is the weather conditions that day on the Meramec River. I read somewhere that river levels can fluctuate significantly with rainfall, and I wonder if that might have played a role in his disappearance. Does anyone here have any local knowledge or experience with how quickly conditions can change on that stretch of the river, especially around the confluence with the Big Rivers? Also, how common are accidents in that area? Just thinking that knowing more about the environment Jonathan was in might shed a little light on what might have happened to him. Any insights would be appreciated.
