I was reading about John White Pork Strand's case and got to thinking about how difficult this must be for his little girl, Aaliyahj. She was just a baby when he was killed, and now she's growing up without her dad, who by all accounts, adored her. It's so tough to imagine how this tragedy has impacted her life. From what I gather reading about Strand, he seemed like a wonderful father who would have done anything for his daughter. I hope she has a strong support system around her to keep his memory alive and share stories about what he was like. It's cases like this that really emphasize the ripple effect of violence—how it spreads out and touches so many lives. My heart goes out to Aaliyahj and the rest of Strand's family as they continue to cope with their loss.
