I'm really struck by how the community came together during Kymeen Bennett's memorial service. It's heartening to see how everyone shared their favorite memories and stories about him. Despite the tragedy, it feels like those moments really helped in celebrating his life rather than just focusing on his untimely death. Anyone who attended can tell how loved he was based on the turnout alone. It makes me wonder how impactful community support can be in moments like these when families are going through unimaginable grief. We're often so focused on the justice system (and rightly so), but sometimes the quieter forms of justice—the ones involving healing and remembering—are just as crucial. Anyone else feel this way?
