I’ve been following the Tezjuan Taylor case closely, and something that keeps coming up in my mind is the surveillance footage presented at the trial. It's haunting to think that the last moments of his life were caught on camera. I can’t even imagine what it must be like for his family to know there’s a recording of such a terrible moment. Watching someone you love suffer an unthinkable fate seems unimaginable. I’m also curious about the impact this footage had on the jury’s decision. Did it sway them significantly? And how does the defense justify self-defense when there’s video evidence and eyewitness testimony saying otherwise? It’s tough to wrap my head around how these things play out in court. My heart goes out to Tezjuan’s daughter, Isys, who will have to grow up without her father. It feels like his legacy would be one of resilience and love, which makes this all the more painful for everyone involved. Love and support to all who knew him.
