Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about Tamika Borum, Tynirah's mom, and how incredibly strong she has been through all of this. I can't even begin to fathom the pain of losing a child, especially in such a sudden and senseless way. I read somewhere that Tamika described Tynirah as having a big smile and a loving nature, which makes this tragedy even harder to comprehend. It's just so unfair that a child who brought so much happiness to those around her was taken away like this.
The community's support through vigils and other events is heartwarming and crucial, but I keep wondering what more can be done to help families like Tamika's in these situations. The systemic issues that allow for such violence seem daunting, but surely there are ways to support grieving families both immediately and long term. If anyone has ideas or knows of any resources, please share. It's so important that we come together not just in mourning but in action, to prevent future tragedies and support those who are deeply affected.
Sending love and strength to Tynirah's family and everyone who is hurting from this loss.
I can't stop thinking about the tragic loss of little Tynirah Borum. What a devastating blow to her family and the community. It’s just so unfair that she was caught up in such senseless violence while doing something so innocent—just getting her hair braided with friends. My heart goes out to her mother, Tamika, and everyone who loved her.
I’ve been following the case and noted that the community really came together for Tynirah’s vigil. It just shows how deeply her loss was felt by everyone, not just those who knew her personally. Her story is a reminder of why we need to keep pushing for an end to gun violence in our neighborhoods. No child should ever have to face this. I hope Tynirah's memory inspires real change in Philly—it's past time for things to improve.
