I've been following Jennifer Lynn Bower's case with a heavy heart, and I can't stop thinking about how the system failed her despite her efforts to protect herself. It’s incredibly chilling to think about the strength and courage it took for Jennifer to obtain a protection-from-abuse order against Shawn Kishbaugh, knowing the risk involved. Even with the PFA in place, it wasn’t enough to prevent this tragedy. It makes me wonder how we can do better in situations like these to protect people like Jennifer who are seeking help. My thoughts are with her friends and family as they navigate this unthinkable loss. Does anyone know if there have been any changes in policy or discussion around improving the effectiveness of PFAs since this happened?
