I've been following DeSean Fountain's case closely, and while the lack of progress in solving it is frustrating, I wanted to focus on something positive — the DeSean Fountain Memorial Fund. It's heartbreaking to think about the potential futures cut short by violence, but I'm so moved by the foundation's mission to provide support and opportunities to kids who desperately need it. It's amazing to see how his family and community have turned their grief into a driving force for positive change. These programs can be pivotal in giving kids a sense of purpose and belonging, diverting them away from risky paths. Mentoring and sports were clearly part of what made DeSean who he was, and I'm hopeful that his legacy will inspire young people to pursue their dreams safely. I know it's easy to feel powerless facing such tragedies, but this foundation is a way for everyone to contribute to a solution. Every step towards supporting our youth and building a safe community is a step away from more families suffering this unimaginable pain. Let's keep supporting these kinds of initiatives and honoring DeSean in a way that would make him proud.
