I've been following the case of the Wilkinsburg shooting since it happened, and something that's always struck me is how deeply it affected the local community. I recently read an article about the neighbors who were there that night and how they've been coping. It seems like the ripple effects of that evening are still being felt throughout the community, from the children who lost schoolmates to the local business owners whose customers were among the victims. One thing that's especially poignant is the ongoing support network that's formed among the survivors and their families. They've been organizing memorials and holding vigils to honor Jerry Shelton, his sisters, and all the others whose lives were cut short. These gatherings not only serve as a reminder of the lives lost but also as a call to action for reducing gun violence. It's heartening to see how these events foster a sense of solidarity and hope, even in the face of such unimaginable tragedy. My thoughts are with everyone who knew and loved the victims; here's hoping the community's strength helps lead to justice someday.
