Has anyone else been thinking about the quick decisions people make and how they lead to irreversible consequences? It’s hard to wrap my head around what led Gregg Scholze and the others down such a destructive path over something as trivial as a stolen bong. Of course, there's no bringing back Kyle Stauber, a young man clearly loved by his family and friends. ? His kindness is something we should all strive to emulate. For me, this case illustrates how senseless violence can erupt from the most unpredictable places. It's also a reminder of the justice system's role in dealing with those who cause such harm. The sentences given to Scholze, Naper, Pignanelli, and Arnett show that there are consequences, but they bring little comfort to those who loved Kyle. Would love to hear other thoughts about how communities can work together to prevent tragedies like this from occurring or how to better support victims’ families in their grief.
