I recently read about Fernandez Rogers, or "Gully" as his friends called him. It seems like the fabric of his community was really torn when he was killed. I'm particularly struck by how close-knit his neighborhood must have been. It's just so moving to hear how much he meant to his family, especially his kids. Losing a parent is unimaginable, and I can't even fathom what they must be going through. What caught my attention recently was the role of Crime Stoppers during the investigation. I wonder how many people in the community felt comfortable using it? I hope they got some useful leads out of it. Has anyone here heard anything about the effectiveness of those anonymous tip lines? I really hope it helped. The thought that someone might have seen something and hesitated to speak up because they didn't feel safe is troubling. If anything, discussing it here might bring a tiny bit of spotlight back onto the case. Rogers deserved better, and so does his family.
