I’ve been thinking about the courage it must have taken for Teshon Malloy to step in and try to break up that fight. It says a lot about his character and the kind of person he was. It’s such a tragic loss for his family and friends, and for Chester as a whole. It’s even more heartbreaking that he lost his life while trying to do something good. The impact of gun violence in Chester is seriously alarming. So many lives cut short and communities left in mourning. I commend the witnesses who came forward and helped identify the shooter, Miguel Angel Moreno. Their bravery played a role in ensuring justice was served. But it also makes me wonder, how can we as a community work together to stop this cycle of violence? Teshon's story deserves to propel us toward change. My thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time.
