I've been following the tragic case of Messiah Chiverton, and it's so unsettling to think about what these families are going through. A detail that keeps running through my mind is the role of school environments in these incidents. Both Frankford and Northeast High Schools have been mentioned so much. I wonder if there were any signs or incidents at school that could have hinted at the escalating tensions between these groups. As a community, what could we have done better? Did the schools have any programs or counselors in place that might have been able to identify these issues before they erupted into violence? It's disconcerting to think this might have been preventable with more awareness and intervention from school authorities. Maybe there's a need for more resources or initiatives in schools focused on conflict resolution and understanding the roots of violence among students. My thoughts are with Messiah’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. That kind of loss is unimaginable, and we all should be doing more to ensure our schools are safe environments for growth, not conflict.
