I've been following the case of Walter E. Stewart Jr. and his son Jo, and I can't help but think about the community support, or lack thereof, surrounding situations like this. It's clear that they were cherished by those who knew them, but what steps can we take as a community to prevent such tragedies? It breaks my heart that disputes over drugs can lead to the loss of innocent lives. How do we create safer environments for our kids to grow up in? My thoughts are constantly with their family, and I hope they find some comfort in the support of their neighbors. It's just so hard to comprehend how things like this can happen right in our neighborhoods.
