I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact that senseless violence has on communities, especially in places like Chester. It’s been years since Lamar Meekins was taken from us, and it’s tough knowing his case still hasn’t been solved. I didn’t know Lamar personally, but I’ve heard he was passionate about cars and had a special bond with his daughter, LaMya. I can only imagine the immense pain his loved ones must be feeling, not only from his loss but from the lack of answers. It’s incredibly disheartening that so many families are left in limbo; they deserve closure and justice. I truly hope that one day soon, there will be a breakthrough in Lamar’s case. In the meantime, I think we as a community need to keep his memory alive and continue to support those who were closest to him. Changes need to be made so that our neighborhoods can become safer places for everyone. Sending love and strength to his family and friends.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Lamar Meekins lately and the car shows he used to attend. He was genuinely passionate about cars, and everyone knew it. It’s sad to think of how his life was cut short, and that this vibrant aspect of his life is no longer there to share with his daughter, LaMya, and the rest of his family. I imagine looking under the hood of a car now must feel different for them without Lamar there, pointing out the engine's best features or discussing custom mods. Chester has certainly lost a bright light in its community. I hope those responsible are brought to justice, and his family finds the peace they desperately deserve. It's important we keep his memory—and the reality of unsolved cases like his—alive.

Has anyone else heard about the vigil at Shiloh Baptist Church? I attended last year, and it was a deeply emotional experience. It seems like the community is really trying to keep Lamar Meekins' memory alive, but I can't help but feel frustrated about the lack of updates in his case. It's so hard for the family and friends who are left with so many unanswered questions. Lamar seemed like a really loving father, and my heart goes out to his daughter, LaMya. I hope that we, as a community, can keep raising awareness and perhaps bring some pressure that leads to answers. If anyone has new information or ideas on how to keep the case alive, please share. We can't let this become a cold case.
