I’ve been following William McKinnon's case for a while now, and I can’t help but wonder if the weather on the day of his disappearance played a more crucial role than initially thought. February in the North Cascades can be unpredictable, and with him wearing just tennis shoes and a light jacket, it seems possible he underestimated the elements. It's strange that no one saw him after the group split. I’m curious if anyone has dug into historical weather reports from that day? Could a sudden change in weather like snow or fog have disoriented him, making it hard to find his way back to the parking lot? It’s gut-wrenching thinking about how something as simple as inadequate gear might have contributed to him getting lost.
