Has anyone else been following the trial of John Patrick Stiver II? I've been mesmerized by the use of technology in this case, especially the computer-generated animation they used in court. I can't remember another trial in Blair County where they brought in something like that. It’s both fascinating and incredibly sad to see how far things have to go just to piece together what happened that night.
It's tragic how lives can change in an instant and how technology plays such a huge role in seeking justice nowadays. My thoughts are with David Hoover's family—I hope this helps them find peace, even just a little bit. Has anyone heard if using animations like this might become more common in these types of cases?
Has anyone else been following the role of surveillance video and technology in this case? I was particularly interested in how they used a computer-generated animation during the trial. It’s fascinating—and a bit unsettling—to think about how technology is now being used to reconstruct crime scenes in courtrooms. While it’s great that it can help piece together the truth, I can’t help but wonder how accurate these representations are and what impact they have on jury perceptions. David Hoover’s family deserves to know exactly what happened, and if tech helps with that, it’s a step in the right direction. But we must be cautious in ensuring it's used correctly and not creating bias or false narratives. Thoughts on how tech is changing courtrooms and its potential pros and cons?
