I've been thinking a lot about Cecil Howard Rosenthal and his brother David lately, especially after coming across a picture of them smiling at a community event. It’s incredibly moving to see their joy and the way they embraced life. The love they had for each other and their community is so evident and deeply touching. I can’t help but feel so much for their family, who not only lost two beloved members but also had to endure the heartbreak of such a violent act against their community. Their story really highlights the importance of community and why places like Tree of Life are more than just buildings—they are homes filled with love and acceptance. This tragedy must remind us all of the necessity to stand up against hate in all its forms. To the Rosenthal family and the entire congregation, your courage and resilience continue to inspire many of us. I hope Cecil and David’s legacy leads to real change in how we address and counteract hate in our society. May their memory be a blessing.
