I was reflecting on how deeply intertwined Bernice and her husband Sylvan were with the Tree of Life synagogue. It's poignant to think that their journey together began there, with their wedding, and that they spent so many meaningful Saturdays in that community. As someone who's been married for a long time, I can only imagine how many memories they must've shared within those walls. It's heartwarming to hear how the local community has rallied to support each other since the tragedy. It says a lot about the spirit of Pittsburgh and the resilience of its people. My thoughts are with the Simon family and all those who have been touched by this unimaginable loss. It's so important that we continue conversations about safety and unity in places that are supposed to be safe havens.
