Was anyone else struck by the lack of media coverage surrounding Darrell Armstrong's murder back in 2012? I was reading about the spike in homicides in Oakland during that year, and it's just baffling how little attention Darrell's case received compared to others. It's almost like his story got lost in the sheer number of tragedies. I can't help but think about his family and friends, who must feel both grief and frustration from the silence surrounding his case. Their pain seems to be compounded by the feeling that the rest of the world has moved on. How has this impacted the community or their trust in the justice system? It's a reminder of how many stories from that time remain unheard, and I hope there’s been some progress in addressing these issues.

I came across Darrell Armstrong's case while reading about the surge in violence in Oakland back in 2012, and it just reminds me of the wider systemic issues that were plaguing the city at that time. It's so deeply frustrating and sad to see that, even in such a violent year, many families didn't get the justice they deserved. I read that his death was one of the 130 homicides that year, which just emphasizes the sheer scale of tragedy in the community. The loss for his family and friends must have been immense, knowing that answers might never come. It's appalling how under-resourced the investigations seemed to be, leading to so many cases going unsolved. I'm really hoping that there's been progress and changes since then for the sake of all those affected.
