Does anyone else feel like the stress and isolation of being a caregiver for a loved one with dementia—like in Sandra's case—often isn't talked about enough? It's so tragic that Robert felt he had no other way out. He clearly loved Sandra and did his best, but it seems like everything just became too overwhelming. I can't help but wonder if there were more resources or a stronger support system, maybe things could have been different. My heart goes out to their sons and the rest of their family. They must be hurting so much right now. I hope they find a way to heal and that this raises awareness of how vital it is to support caregivers emotionally, too.
