Hello! I am the cousin who initiated her missing persons report. This has definitely been a family theory since she went missing..as we weren't even aware of the marriage until roughly 2013! Once I received the marriage certificate, it brought a lot of new information. But her social security numbers have never been used.
The first issue is that in March 1963 she did a random name change in Florida, and received a separate ss# in which was never used either...changed her name to Emily Richards, using her mothers maiden surname Moews as her own. She was a Jordan, surname. Then in 1964 does the marriage in California using her actual birth name. None of it makes much sense other then the FBI case surrounding her leaving in 1963-1964.
Cousin here to Emily. We have only been able to track\trace the guy she married in California in 1966. Even more odd is that he changed his name in Chicago Illinois in 1965, so its beyond us as to why they would each use their birth names on the marriage certificate in California a year later.
I cannot find a single record anywhere of a divorce for them. Bruce Richards also changed his name to John R O'brien in Illinois in 1965, before their marriage, and then he actually married someone else later using the JRO name. They eventually had their marriage annulled because she found out he was using an alias! But they also remained together until he passed in 2009. I was just shy of a few month of both of them passing to be able to contact either of them. But ive chatted with family members of both sides and only received bits and peices.
