Has anyone done a deep dive into the "David Herrin" alias? It's curious how the man in the Bay incident used a name so similar to John Clyde Perrin’s. It's almost like he wanted to stay hidden but was too stressed or disoriented at that moment to come up with something less obvious. Was there ever a traceable David Herrin in hospital records or any other documentation during that time? Given the era, I'm wondering if the use of such a close alias might have been either a cry for help or an indication of someone not entirely in control of their faculties. Has anyone looked into the possibility of him living under a different identity after that? Could vintage travel or immigration records hold any clues?
Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into the John Clyde Perrin case lately and something caught my eye. Has anyone looked into the angle of the scar on his heel? I mean, it’s a pretty specific detail — not everyone has a scar from a motorcycle accident. You'd think if "David Herrin" was indeed John, someone could have identified him through that scar, especially at the hospital. I’m curious if anyone has more info on whether the hospital staff or rescuers noticed it. Maybe records from back then? It's just puzzling how a detail like that could go unmentioned. Could it be a lead that was overlooked, or am I barking up the wrong tree here? Would love to hear your thoughts.
Does anyone else find the timing of the "David Herrin" rescue in the San Francisco Bay a bit too coincidental? Just one day after John Perrin was last seen in Menlo Park, a guy matching his description shows up in the bay and then vanishes after being taken to a hospital. If it was John, why didn't he stick around? And if it wasn't, how has no one else come forward to claim being this mysterious "David Herrin"? Considering John was appealing his conviction and deeply opposed the Vietnam War, could he have been trying to disappear intentionally? It’s a real head-scratcher. Maybe some folks here with knowledge of draft evasion or legal consequences back in the early ‘70s can shed some light?
