Hey everyone, I recently came across Rudy Morales's case, and something that really stood out to me was the fact that he left on a bicycle. This was in the early 1970s, and I wonder how common it was for group homes back then to allow residents to leave on their own like that. Especially since Rudy had a medical condition that could make communication challenging. Were there protocols in place, or did they just underestimate the risks? It's baffling to think that after he pedaled away, nothing—no trace, no sighting. Has anyone else looked into how group homes operated during that time, or heard of Rudy's case from local stories passed down? Thanks for any insights you may have!
