It's so tragic to hear how Gladys Coriano's attempts to secure her safety were ignored by the system. I’ve read that she had changed her phone number, likely a desperate move to stay off Adriano’s radar. Can you imagine the constant fear and anxiety someone must feel to take such measures? It’s absolutely devastating that despite her efforts, she was still not safe in her own neighborhood. This is a glaring example of how more needs to be done to help individuals in these situations. My heart goes out to her family, who must be grappling with so many emotions right now. It’s hard to comprehend how things reached such a tragic conclusion when warnings were there all along. How can we do better as a society to ensure that no one else falls through the cracks like this?
I can't stop thinking about how brave Gladys was in the face of such a terrifying situation. She did everything right—filing a PFA, installing cameras, even changing her phone number—all while trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy for herself. It's horrifying that even after she took all these steps to protect herself, the system still failed her. It makes me wonder how we can better support those who are in similar situations, so no one else has to suffer like Gladys. Her courage and strength should never be forgotten. My heart goes out to her family and friends who must be missing her terribly. How can we push for change in the legal system so that victims of abuse are genuinely protected?
