I've been thinking a lot about community support and how crucial it is in times of tragedy. Kahree Simmons' murder is utterly devastating, especially since it happened while he was just playing basketball with friends—a perfect example of how senseless gun violence has become. What’s remarkable, though, is how the community has come together to support his family. The vigils and balloon releases show a beautiful act of solidarity and remembrance, giving some comfort to those he left behind. It highlights the power of community to uplift and remember the precious lives lost. But, isn't it frustrating that despite all that love and support, there’s still no justice for Kahree? Maybe this collective grief and strong sense of community can drive sustainable changes, but it hurts to think his family is still waiting for closure. My thoughts are with them and everyone affected by this terrible loss.
