Has anyone else been following the trial of Alexis Cado-Suero? I can’t stop thinking about how this young life took such a devastating turn. At such a young age, Tyree Smart had his future stolen, and another young life, Cado-Suero’s, is now spending decades behind bars. It’s a somber reminder of how youth violence has far-reaching consequences. I’ve been wondering about the role community programs could play in preventing such heartbreaking situations. It's important for us to come together and discuss ways to support our young people and give them alternatives to violence. My heart goes out to Tyree’s family, and I hope justice brings them some peace.
I recently read about the memorial efforts for Tyree Smart, and it really touched me.
