I've been following the case of Cornell P. Lee Jr., and something about the witness reports has been on my mind. It's so unsettling to think about how planned and deliberate the confrontation seemed. The fact that Devin Lee Martin was allegedly equipped with a handgun with a laser sight makes me wonder if there was a level of intimidation planned from the start. It's terrifying to consider how a young person, just 16 years old, could have access to such a weapon and feel compelled to use it in such a cold manner. My heart goes out to Cornell's family, who are undoubtedly struggling with an enormous sense of loss and frustration. I hope that people in the community who might have seen or heard something come forward with any information that could provide the police with new leads. Losing a loved one to such violence is a pain nobody should endure, and the least we can do is support the call for justice for Mr. Lee. If sharing this keeps the conversation alive and brings new attention to the investigation, it's worth it. Stay safe, everyone.
