Has anyone else seen the recent vigil held for Maleek Thomas? The images and stories his friends and family shared were truly moving. It was touching to see the community come together to honor Maleek’s memory, gathering in the Hill District to lay flowers and light candles. Such a tragic loss doesn’t just affect the family; it shakes the entire community, and it's reassuring to witness that support. Maleek was described by his friends as someone who always looked out for others, which makes his attempt to stop the rock-throwing incident all the more emblematic of his character. It's just so difficult to comprehend how quickly everything can change. Sending thoughts to all affected by this, and hopefully, the discussions about reducing youth violence can lead to meaningful action and change.
