I recently came across the tragic case of Ernesto "Xe" Gonzalez Acosta, and my heart goes out to his family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. What really strikes me is the passion Ernesto had for life and his community. It’s genuinely inspiring how devoted he was to celebrating and spreading his cultural heritage, actively organizing events like the Mexica New Year's Celebration. It’s such a loss for the community to have someone so vibrant and full of life taken away so senselessly. What also stands out to me is how his friends and family have chosen to honor his memory. The fact that they held a memorial involving Aztec dancers, incense, and a candlelight vigil is not only a beautiful tribute but also a powerful statement against the violence that caused his untimely death. Their actions seem to reflect that same spirit of positivity and cultural pride that Ernesto embodied, truly keeping his legacy alive. I hope sharing his story here can help maintain focus on this case and maybe even jog someone’s memory who might have seen something that night. This young man was clearly loved by many, and he deserves justice. Sending so much strength to everyone affected by this tragedy as they continue their call for answers and peace.
