I've been following Allen Thomas's case for a while, and it's so frustrating how many roadblocks there seem to be in finding justice for him. Avery Street and the surrounding areas have been dealing with so much violence over the years, but you'd hope that with new technology and cold case units, we'd see more progress. Unfortunately, it seems like witness cooperation is a big issue. I wonder if there are people out there who know something but are afraid or unwilling to speak up. It's such a tragic situation for Allen's family and friends, having to live without answers for so long. Does anyone know if there's a community initiative or support group in Detroit specifically helping victims' families in these cold, unsolved cases? Any info or ideas on how the community can help might be a step towards justice for Allen and others like him.

Has anyone else noticed the staggering number of unsolved cases in Detroit, like the tragic loss of Allen Thomas back in 2011? It really makes you wonder about the pressure the Detroit Police Department must be under. From the bit I've read, it seems like a perfect storm of understaffing and limited resources. It’s just so sad knowing families like Allen’s are left without answers for so long. I keep hoping that advancements in DNA technology or perhaps even a courageous witness will eventually help bring some clarity to cases like Allen's. I can only imagine the enduring pain and frustration his family must feel. Are there any local initiatives or community efforts out there that might be lending a hand to bridge the gap that the authorities can't cover due to their resource constraints?
