I was reading about James "Boo" Diggs and found myself reflecting on how deeply entwined gun violence is with our community issues. It's devastating to think about how a stolen firearm—even one meant for trade—can set off a chain of events leading to a tragedy like this. The situation on Ruby Street seems like it escalated so quickly and ended in such a senseless loss of life. I can only imagine the pain his family is going through, especially his wife and kids. The fact that Boo was remembered as someone who truly cared for those around him just makes this loss sting even more. I hope this serves as a moment for reflection on the importance of addressing the roots of such violence. It's not just about investigating the crime, but also about understanding and preventing these situations from happening in the first place. Sending all my condolences to his loved ones.
